Hack #1 - Winged eyeliner stencil
Creating the winged eyeliner look has never been easier. We’ve seen this look go wrong many times and we have an at-home tool to make this sexy look perfection every time. Bobby pins actually make for the best eyeliner stencil. Simply line the v-shape end of the bobby pin with your favorite liquid liner then stamp it on the corner of the eye and fill in.
Hack #2 - Get Out All Your Toothpaste
We're sure you've been here: struggling to get that last little bit of toothpaste out of the tube because you know there's still some in there. We get you, and we see you. Next time you need a little help getting that last bit of paste out from the tube, use a bobby pin to slowly work the product from the sides and bottom up to the top.
This easy, money-saving bobby pin hack can also be used to get out other products found in aluminum tubes, such as balms or creams.
Hack #3 - Bobby Pin Chip
Instead of buying big, bulky clips to keep your chips and other snack items from going stale, you can use a bobby pin to securely keep the bag closed so that its contents stay fresh for days. Plus, when the snack is all gone, you can take the bobby pin back up to your bathroom, use it for other hacks, or dedicate it as the special snack clip pin—it is so versatile!
Hack #4 - Swift Wardrobe Fix
Wardrobe malfunctions, big or small, happen to all of us. From snagged sweaters, broken zippers to a broken bra strap, that spare bobby pin you keep in your bag can be used to hold things together until you get home. Also, if this isn't a sign to keep a spare bobby pin (or four) in your bag at all times, then we don't know what is
Hack #5 - Organize Your Cash
Organizing your cash just got a whole lot easier. Simply fold your bills in half and secure them with a bobby pin. This hack allows you to keep your wallet more organized; plus, if you want to throw cash into a pocket, bag, or even pin it to the inside of your bra, you'll have no trouble finding your money when you need it.
Hack #6 - Spare Your Thumbs
No more bruised or pinched thumbs with this bobby pin hack. If you’ve ever accidentally hit your thumb while hammering away at a nail you know it’s something you don’t ever want to repeat. Before hammering that nail, grab a bobby pin and place it around the nail as a clamp so you have an extension. Who knew bobby pins were a thumb savior too.
Hack #7 - DIY Bobby Pin Bookmark
Folding down the corners or "dog ears" of your books to mark your page is not great for the longevity of the paper. That's why using a bobby pin when you've forgotten your bookmark is the ideal problem-solver.
It's thin, compact, easily removable, and will keep your page marked for when you're ready to dive back in. This bobby pin hack is especially useful in travel situations where you may have packed along your books but forgot a bookmark.
Hack #8 - End of the Tape Marker
How many times have your frustratingly lost the end of the tape and wasted so much time searching for it? All you have to do is stick a bobby pin near the edge of the tape so you can find it more quickly the next time. Bobby pins are a perfect size and shape for marking the end of your packing tape.
Hack #9 - Bobby Pin Nail Art
The tiny, circular ends of a bobby pin make the perfect instrument for at-home nail art. All you need to do is dip the open end of a bobby pin into a bottle of nail polish. You can then use these round tips for polka dots or any other creative designs.
Hack #10 - Fan Brush in a Flash
Last but certainly not least, no fan brush no problem. Take your blush brush, fan it out and press firmly. Then place a bobby pin over the spread out bristles towards the base. You now have the perfect fan brush that’s ready to make some highlighting or contouring magic.
Bobby pins make the perfect in-a-pinch tool that can basically do it all: from holding back your hair, marking the end of clear tape, securing a long and loose belt, or getting all your toothpaste out of the tube. These must-have items are small but mighty and definitely deserve a place or two around your house.
